Cool Buildings #1: Antti Lovag’s Bubble House
Posted by One Inch Man | Filed under Uncategorized
This is the first in what I hope will be series of posts showcasing some of my favourite architecture from around the world.
I figured I’d hit the ground running by starting the series with what is, quite possibly, my favourite house anywhere in the world.
I bring you… The Bubble House.

Situated near Cannes in the South of France, this spectacular house was the creation of Finnish architect Antti Lovag, but is probably more commonly associated with it’s most famous owner, the legendary fashion designer Pierre Cardin.
Lovag originally started building the house in 1975 for a wealthy industrialist who sadly died before it’s completion. In the early 80’s, Cardin was searching the Cote D’Azure for a new summer home that suited his avant garde sensibilities. He came across the construction site and rest, as they say, is history.
